Chaim Weizmann
Chaim Weizmann was a leader of the modern Zionist Movement and the first president of Israel.
Weizmann was born in 1874. He grew up and was educated in Poland and Russia. He became a chemist of international distinction. After getting married, he settled in England. Given World War I and the British Mandate over Palestine, Weizmann was in the right place to become a leader of the Zionist movement. With the establishment of the Jewish State in 1948, Weizmann become the first president of the State of Israel.
